A student is ready for music lessons when curiosity meets consistency. Readiness is reflected in the ability to focus for brief periods, follow direction, explore sound with intention, and show a genuine interest in learning how music works—not simply playing notes. Whether a child is young or older, true readiness is marked by a willingness to practice, engage thoughtfully in lessons, and grow with guidance. When these qualities are present, music study becomes not only effective, but deeply rewarding.

FAQ'S
Faber's message for Jamie's students:
Studio accomplishments in 2026 so far:
1. Student came in first place in Steinway concerto competition. Why I love concertos:
Piano concertos embody the perfect balance between individuality and unity. They allow the piano to emerge as a commanding voice while remaining in constant dialogue with an ensemble. I am drawn to the architecture of a concerto—the way technical brilliance, lyricism, and orchestral color are woven into a single expressive form. Performing or preparing concertos demands discipline, endurance, and refined musical judgment, while offering an unmatched sense of scale and emotional range. In a concerto, the pianist is both soloist and collaborator, carrying personal expression within a larger collective vision. It is this union of power, elegance, and shared purpose that makes piano concertos endlessly compelling to me.
2. 20 superiors and 1 excellent for outcomes with the National Federation of Music Clubs. Why I love being a Club President:
Serving as a Club President with the National Federation of Music Clubs allows me to actively support one of the nation’s longest-standing organizations dedicated to advancing music education and the arts. NFMC provides structured opportunities for students through festivals, competitions, awards, and scholarships that encourage excellence, accountability, and artistic growth. I value the organization’s commitment to cultivating musicianship while fostering discipline, civic responsibility, and cultural awareness. Leadership within NFMC offers the privilege of guiding students and teachers through meaningful, nationally recognized programs that uphold tradition, integrity, and educational rigor—ensuring that music remains a vital and respected part of our communities.
3. For the third consecutive year, every student I prepared for District VI's Student Day earned honors in both theory and performance, receiving a state medal.
Student Day is a distinguished evaluative event in which students are assessed across multiple disciplines essential to comprehensive musicianship. Within the studio, it remains a valued tradition reserved for dedicated and high-achieving students, offering an opportunity to celebrate their artistic growth while honoring their commitment, discipline, and musical excellence.
